Welcome to the Captive Animal Care Giver Skills Programme. This is an NQF-registered skills programme, Level 2. This programme is for any individual who is embarking on a career in conservation. This skills programme is for any persons who are looking for a career in the tourism / hospitality industry,. The purpose of this guide is to provide the facilitator with guidelines about the presentation and learner support requirements, this will assist you to plan, prepare, conduct and evaluate the prescribed activities for this programme This programme will provide learners with 46 credits towards the National Certificate: Conservation: Species Care in a Controlled Environment, Level 2, 133 credits
This course deals with the care of captive animals and covers eight unit standards:
- U/S 8418 - Do basic Research (4 Credits)
- U/S 113822 - Animal Care (20 Credits)
- U/S 8333 - Collecting field specimens (2 Credits)
- U/S 8336 - Conservation Ethics (3 Credits)
- U/S 113821 - Food and Feeding (8 Credits)
- U/S 8420 - Team Work (4 Credits)
- U/S 8600 - Customer Care (3 Credits)
- U/S 7854 - First aid (Completed in WOP)
